Fondation Charles-Bruneau

Quebec

The Charles-Bruneau Foundation has just celebrated 30 years of involvement in the field of pediatric cancer. Since its inception, its mission has been to provide all children with cancer with the best chance of recovery by funding research and the development of projects dedicated to pediatric hemato-oncology. The researchers have two main goals: to cure children whose cancer is resistant to treatment and to improve the quality of life of children in remission by reducing complications and sequelae caused by treatments. All children in Quebec with cancer are welcomed and cared for in a Charles-Bruneau Centre or Unit. Indeed, following investments of more than $40 million, specialized Charles-Bruneau Units have been set up in the four university hospital centres that welcome children with cancer in Quebec: the CHU Sainte-Justine, the Montreal Children’s Hospital, the CIUSSS de l’Estrie-CHUS and the CHU de Québec-Université Laval. On the research side, with the commitments announced in 2021, the sums awarded will total $55 million since its creation, making it the main funder of pediatric hemato-oncology research in Quebec.

“Thanks to you, your donations, and advances in research, hundreds of children and their parents can rediscover and enjoy the simple pleasures of life, just like they deserve. Thank you for choosing the Fondation Charles-Bruneau and for making a difference, for Zoé and all the other children.” Zoe’s Mom
