Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation

Alberta

The Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation advances children’s health care by funding specialized care at the Stollery Children’s Hospital and in communities across northern Alberta. This care includes the use of state-of-the-art equipment and facilities; sub-specialty education to train the brightest medical minds; leading-edge research to discover new treatments and cures; and specialized programs that improve family- centred care, child and youth addiction and mental health services, and patient and family outcomes. The Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation is also a proud partner of the A Family of Support: Child & Youth Mental Health Initiative.

The Stollery Children’s Hospital hosts the only pediatric emergency in northern Alberta, which is the referral centre for all complex pediatric heart surgeries and transplants, a major organ transplantation centre, and home to Canada’s largest regional program for neonatal intensive and intermediate care. It also provides some of the most advanced treatments for child-health issues in the country.

Through donor support, the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation continues to give all kids the best chance to live a long and healthy life.

“Through previous hospital stays and regular specialist appointments, we are grateful that the Stollery is in Alberta’s backyard. For us, it has always been a symbol of hope, comfort, and support with world-class medical professionals. The doctors, nurses and all staff members truly provide the utmost care and treat our children as though they were one of their own.” – Dane, Stollery dad

How your donations will help

Your support will help to expand round-the-clock mental health support to children, youth, and families. The Stollery Children’s Hospital is working to create integrated mental health services within the emergency department. The Urgent Clinic will boost 24/7 helpline support and create a separate walk-in clinic space to increase access to timely support from an expert team of nurses, social workers, therapists and child and adolescent psychiatrists. In addition to making more support available to patients seeking mental health care, we are also developing more assertive follow-up care for patients who are admitted to medical or surgical units after a suicide attempt or significant incident of self-harm.
