Special Olympcis athletes find joy, confidence, and fulfillment – on the playing field and in life.
‘Being involved in Special Olympics means never having to worry about being alone. I love spending time with all the friends I make through Special Olympics. I also love getting to meet new friends when I travel to compete at provincial and national games.’ – Shaughn, Special Olympics athlete
How your donations will help
Your donations will support the Special Olympics Newfoundland Provincial Games, which occur every two years, alternating between winter and summer. In addition to the fun, exciting and competitive experience these Games provide, they also serve as the qualifying competition for the Special Olympics Canada Games and an opportunity to be part of the Team NL Training Squad. Well over 500 participants attend either the SONL Summer or Winter Games. During a Games year, multi-sport Special Olympics athletes choose one sport in which to compete. The 2022 games will take place July 14-17, and the 2023 games will take place March 2-5.
