Harvest Manitoba is the 4th largest food charity of its kind in Canada, currently supporting the food security needs of over 80,000 people every month through a network of over 325 agency partners all across Manitoba. Each year, Harvest collects and distributes over 12 million pounds of food and gets it onto the tables of families all over our province. They provide nearly 12,000 food hampers each month and distribute food to soup kitchens, daycares, schools and other meal and snack programs
‘Shortly after completing her degree in psychology at the University of Manitoba, Jennifer was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Due to her condition and trying to navigate the effects of her medications, Jennifer was unable to work. Jennifer registered to receive food assistance and volunteered in the reception area. Through her volunteering, Jennifer was able to regain confidence and find employment. She continues to rely on Harvest for food because her income does not cover all her expenses, especially medication’.
How your donations will help
Your donations will be used to support Harvest Manitoba’s food distribution efforts to northern First Nations communities and other indigenous initiatives at Harvest Manitoba. Funding will also support our Harvest Meals 2 Go program that provides healthy weekend lunches to 5 schools in Manitoba, soon to be expanded to 10 schools in the next two years.
