Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation
Alberta
The Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation proudly serves as the primary charitable fundraiser for the Alberta Children’s Hospital and Child Health and Wellness Research at the University of Calgary. The organization also partners with Alberta Health Services and community agencies that support child health advancements across our city and province.
The foundation works to inspire the community to invest in excellence in child health, research, and family centred care. Thanks to generous community support, the foundation funds crucial programs, technology, and expertise so that even the most severely ill and injured children can benefit from compassionate world- class care today, while also investing in innovative science to find new therapies and cures for a healthier tomorrow. Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation is also a proud partner of the A Family of Support: Child & Youth Mental Health Initiative.
“We know our children will be taken care of. Miracles happen there every day. We should all support the Alberta Children’s Hospital, doing our bit, in our own way, is very important. It’s a blessing and we need to make it survive for generations to come.” -Kanika, Vihaan’s Mom
How your donations will help
Your donations will help fund mental health programs that are so important, especially now as young people grapple with the mental health impact of the pandemic. Your support is enabling a team of mental health literacy experts to create new tools and expand programs that help educators, students and parents understand, identify, and properly address concerns as early as possible. For example, the team has created a series of age-appropriate animated videos on key mental health literacy concepts that have been distributed to school districts across the province and posted on YouTube. The team has also begun working with Indigenous communities from across Canada to develop a much-needed website and content for an Indigenous mental health literacy resource to better support first nations youth as well. They will reflect Indigenous cultures and perspectives with accessibility from anywhere in the country.
