“The program has been a lifesaver and a saving grace for our family. Rick comes home in a great mood, and I have time to take care of the family’s needs so we can enjoy our time together.”Rick sustained a brain injury in a vehicle collision in 2007. Although he accessed services from the outreach program at Dale Brain Injury Services a few hours a week, he still spent much of his time bored at home. Everything changed when he began attending an adult day program offered by Dale Brain Injury Services inside Earls Court long-term care home in London. Rick now looks forward to taking part in fitness activities and baking groups with people who understand what it is like to live with a brain injury. It also gives Rick’s mom, Arlene, some time to herself, which reduces her caregiver stress and helps ensure Rick can remain living at home.

The Adult Day Program opened in August 2014. Clients participate in a number of meaningful activities aimed at improving their personal wellness, their ability to interact successfully with others, as well as building their skills to increase independence. The hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information on the program, contact Dale Brain Injury Services at 519-668-0023 ext. 319.
